Well here we are Tuesday of what was supposed to be the first week of school and Rachel is at a sleepover and Becca and Alec are still sleeping at 7:15 am. They decided to postpone the start of school by a week due to an increase of Covid in our school. Fingers crossed we will be able to start next Monday as the kids are so ready to be back in school, meet there new teachers, and just go back to "normal"!
Monday August 3rd the kids all had eye appointments. We made it another year without anyone needing glasses, but Rachel is just on the edge of needing them. Dr. O'Conner told us to watch and if she starts having more trouble seeing then to bring her in and he would get her into glasses. After eye appointments and treats from Starbucks I brought the kids home and then went to Sutherland to help Jen get things ready for our Washington DC golf tournament. That evening Wanda and Grandma Priest came out for dinner and then we were all ready for bed.
Tuesday I ran to Hershey in the morning to turn in Rachel's computer, then after lunch we went to Demi's to swim. Rachel even drove us, I drove to antelope and she drove the next 3 miles to Demi's house. She did a great job and we excited to drive! We swam for a couple hours then it was time for Rachel to go to Piano. After piano we picked up Demi so she could have a sleepover. Rachel and Demi watched Becca and Alec while Mike and I ran out south and checked cow. The girls enjoyed sleeping in the camper Tuesday night.

Wednesday the dogs and I took a long walk in the morning then I went to town to my hair appointment and to run some errands. Wednesday night we all got ready and loaded up to go to the rodeo, on the way Mike was checking some work emails and found out that they released a statement on his behalf as Cheif of Staff that they we advising people to stay away from larger crowds. So we turned around and took Mike home, the kids and I decided to go to the rodeo and just wear our masks. We had a great time sitting in the stands, which was new for us this year as we usually sit on the end. It was a great night and I am so glad we went as the ended up cancelling fans at all the rest of the nights of rodeo as the Covid risk dial in North Platte went from yellow to orange with our rising numbers.
Thursday the kids and I worked on freezing corn in the morning along with laundry. That afternoon I canned Jalapenos, banana peppers, and salsa peppers before Mike and I decided to go check cows and stop in town for dinner. The switchyard had a fresh shipment of sea food and it was all delicious! Friday morning we stayed home and I baked cookies for the golf tournament and cleaned the house. Friday afternoon I went to Sutherland and helped Jen finish setting up the golf tournament. I then came home to mow while Mike went golfing. Becca had a birthday party overnight at Josie's and Alec, Rachel, and I went to Pals for dinner with Vince, Traci, and Mia. Rachel and Mia then went for ice cream while I took Alec to Lisa's to spend the night. I then picked Rachel up at Dugan's and we stayed for a drink. Nick came over to stay the night. Saturday was the big golf tournament. It was a hot day and everything went well. The kids each made $450 dollars and had a great time. After golf Aaron and Sean came to town to hangout. I ran to town and picked up Becca and Alec and then we enjoyed some time in the shop before going to bed.

Sunday we got up and had a big breakfast, I then went out and picked my garden before coming inside and sewing a curtain for a teacher at school and hemming Marty's pants for the wedding. Sunday evening while Mike and the kids went to check cows and watch a movie I ran to Hershey and helped Jen count money and figure out all the earrings from the golf tournament.
