Here it is another late post! We had a busy two weeks and now that Becca is sleeping less during the day I seem to run out of hours in the day. Two girls are defiantly more challenging than one. I have come to realize that Rachel was the easy one. Don't get me wrong Becca is a great 3 month old, I just forgot about the 10 minute time span of self entertainment. She also has continued to be unhappy in the evenings so I don't get much accomplished after 6.
Rachel is still a great big sister as far as helping me and getting things for Becca. Holding her is still not happening. She doesn't even want Becca to touch her unless they are in the bath together. Rachel is getting to be a very big girl. She is still going potty by herself most of the time and is very self entertained with blocks and puzzles. I would like to share some of the translating that I do for Rachel. This way if you ever get involved in a conversation with her you can follow along. She has trouble saying the "f" sound so it is a "b". For instance, a Fish is a Bish, Free is Bee and so on. Music is Mugic, and every other Wednesday we go to the Museuuum. She was calling it the Musebra so I started to emphasize the "um" and now she gets it every time. She has great vocabulary skills, she just has a few sounds she is still working on and learning.
Becca is a growing, growing girl. We are now in some 3-6 month clothes but mostly 6 months. Like I said she still has crabby time in the evenings but she loves to laugh. She really thought Sean and Ashlyn were funny. She loves to swing and I just put up here bouncer and she seems to enjoy that as well. She spends most of the mornings sleeping.
We had a great Christmas this year. Christmas eve we enjoyed church with my cousin's the Troshynski's then came home and ate Ribs for dinner. The we all opened our new pj's and the girls got new ornaments for the tree. Christmas morning we got up and opened gifts just the 4 of us.Rachel loved all her gifts and really enjoys her innotab. Becca loves to watch Rachel play with her new elephant toy. Mike was excited about his new tool chests for the shop. He had to go down after rounds and put all his tools in them. I was pleasantly surprised with my gift from Mike and the girls. A new iPhone!! I love it and have to admit that it is one of the reasons this post is late. I spent most of my free time last week playing with it and didn't take the time to update the blog.
Mike then had to go in and round on his patients. We had leftovers for lunch and then Pat, Wanda, and Phyllis joined us for clam chowder and bacon wrapped tenderloins for supper. Monday Mike had surgeries to do and the girls and I enjoyed a day of shopping with Grandma and Granddad.
We went to the museum on Wednesday and Thursday Rebekah Troshynski came out to help with the girls while I cleaned. Rachel loved having her here but is a little confused with the two Becca's. Thursday evening the girls and I took Great Grandma Priest (Phyllis) to Mullen to meet Wanda and then we stayed out and Aaron and Liza'a (or as Rachel would say "Ysa").
Friday we enjoyed the day with Nathan, Sean, and Ashlyn ("Ashes"). Then went to Grandma and Granddad's for supper and stayed the night. Mike came up on Saturday and we celebrated Christmas at the nursing home with Grandma Kitty and then went back to the ranch for Prime Rib. Mike and I rang in the New Year with Nick and Melissa while the girls slept. I will admit that we only made it to Central time New Year. We all went to bed around 11 Mountain time..
Yesterday we came home and I took down the Christmas stuff and just enjoyed the day with the family. Mike was on call yesterday and again today. We are hoping to get to watch the game but who knows.
Here is to a New Year and everything it has in store for us.
I know that I usually end with pictures but I have to run now and get more stuff done before the game today. I will post pictures as soon as I can.
