September and The End of Summer

   With 2 kids in school, summer is officially over. With the end of summer brings garden produce. I love this time of year, we finally get to see all the summer's hard work pay off with the picking and eating of the garden. I know some people have had tomatoes for a while now but mine are just now getting red and they are so good this year. My second favorite thing about having a garden is sharing with friends and family. 

    Monday we took Rachel to school and then went to Jazzercise. We came home after class to get a start on laundry and just relax after the long weekend. We had some grilled hamburgers for supper and the kids all went to bed well as they were still tired from the weekend as well.

    Tuesday September 1! We made it to September again the time of year where the months seem to fly off the Calendar and Christmas will be here in just 16 short weeks. Tuesday was a busy morning for us, Rachel and Becca both had school pictures so we were up at 6:15 getting everyone done with breakfast, dresses, and hair curled so that we could be out the door by 7:30. We made it and both the girls looked great, I can't wait to see how the pictures turned out. After school drop off Alec and I went to Jazzercise and then stopped at the grocery store before picking up Becca. One of our neighbors a couple miles down the road dropped off a huge bucket of zucchini so after school we went to town to give some to Michelle. While we were in town we stopped and grabbed pizza for supper and ice cream for a snack.

    Wednesday we had to get new tires on the Suburban so after dropping Rachel off at school we went to the tire place. The kids did pretty good playing with toys and reading book but it got to be too long so we decided to go for a walk and enjoy the healing garden at the hospital. Mike was able to come down and have a snack with us. After the suburban was done we ran through Walmart then it was home for naps. After school the kids rode bikes in the shop and then we had taco's for supper.

    Thursday was Becca's first actual day of school with no first day or picture stuff. She again had so much fun. They learned about the letter "M" and she quizzed me all day about her "M" stuff she learned. After school we meet Mike in North Platte and then we all went to Arapahoe to look at and pick up a new bobcat. We had a good trip and ended up only bringing home the accessories for the bobcat as it would not all fit on the trailer. We got home late and the kids were tired and went straight to bed.

     Friday we took Rachel to school and then went to Jazzercise. After class we came home and I worked on freezing all the zucchini we got from Becky. After school we made a huge batch of zucchini bread and got all the zucchini in the freezer. While we were in town this morning we also picked up a couple movies. The kids enjoyed watching Paddington and Mike and I enjoyed The Longest Ride after the kids went to bed.

    Saturday morning we worked and played outside. Alec was complaining of a tummy ache so he wanted to snuggle then ended up falling asleep while I was helping Becca. We did not go to Valentine this year as Mike was on call all weekend and we just traveled for Sandi's shower. Saturday afternoon we went to Raatz's to watch the football game. The kids all had a great time playing and we enjoyed the game until the Husker's lost with a last second hail Mary. Darn Husker's but we will be watching them again next week. New coach and new year we will have to see how it goes.

   Sunday we got up and got ready for church. Mike has some cases to do so he was not able to go with us. Babs wanted to go with us so we picked up Babs and dropped off Alec and had a great time at church. After church we picked up Qudoba and went to Lisa's to visit and let the kids play. The kids all had a great time playing with the Nerf guns. We came home for naps then enjoyed a movie before the kids went to bed.
