Rachel Turns 6

How are we almost half way through April and how is my little girl 6 years old already? This was another the days are long but the years are short weeks! Becca is finally recovering from surgery and sleeping better, maybe! She likes to think she is sick and tries to get out of sleeping in her bed as much as possible but we have had 2 of the last 3 night of sleep so I will take it. Rachel had a great weekend celebrating her 6th birthday and Bubba is just a boy. He loves being outside and everything that has to do with Daddy, the lawn mower, and the tractor!
Monday Rachel was still on Easter break so we just stayed home and enjoyed the day in our pjs. We did some laundry and cleaning and then spent the afternoon playing outside. Tuesday was back to normal, we took Rachel to school and then went to Walmart. Alec did a little better and I only had to carry him the last couple isles so I decided to let them play in the arcade when we got done. Alec loved it until it was time to go and then I had to carry him like a football and try to get to the suburban without getting run over or dropping him!
He looks so sweet and innocent here!!!
Wednesday we went back to Jazzercise after taking Rachel to school. Everyone was so nice and asked Becca how she was feeling. Becca was excited to play on Wednesday because more of her friends were there. After school we came home and ate then dropped Rachel off at CCD and went to visit Grandma Priest. We really have enjoyed our weekly visits with Grandma and hope to keep it up this summer but know that it will be hard to do. Rachel finishes CCD the end of April and then has the summer off. Thursday we took Rachel to school and then stayed home and worked on laundry and house stuff. After baths Thursday night we put Becca's hair in curlers. She was not so excited about sleeping in them. I remember having the same dislike for them as a kids when it came to sleeping. Don't worry mom was very sympathetic when it came to those types of things. Her favorite saying while doing hair was, "Beauty is Pain!"
Here is Becca in her Curlers!
Friday Rachel had school and we went to Jazzercise. Becca got to help teach class again and danced to her favorite song with Lisa. The little's and I had lunch on Friday with Michelle, Stacy, and Maelissa and then I ran to Walmart and picked up Rachel's birthday present before picking up Rachel and coming home to get ready for her birthday party. Friday night Kate, Justin, Hanna, Dutch, Lisa, Marty, Sam, and John came out for supper. Rachel loved all the attention. Lisa brought all the girls little clutches full of all the things you need for a night out on the town. {Eye shadow, blush, lip gloss, hair brush, breath mints, and sun glasses} The Raatz family gave Rachel some nail polish, nail polish remover, and a face mask for our spa party we had after supper and cake and ice cream. Mike, I and the little gave Rachel a My Life doll, some clothes for her new doll, and some hot stamps for her hair.
After cake and ice cream the girls took a bath in the big jet bath and got ready to be pampered. We did face masks with cucumbers on their eyes, foot bath, manicure, and rollers for their hair. Hanna was going to spend the night but got sad at bedtime so Kate came to get her.

Saturday Mike was on call and spent the day in town while the kids and I just relaxed and rested up from the late night Saturday. Sunday we went to church and then out to lunch. After lunch we went to Menard's and got some bushes for the front and then came home to do yard work and play outside. Sunday night we did not have time for a movie but had a great time playing outside until the last minutes before supper, baths, and bed.
Saturday morning after we took her curlers out.
Happy Birthday Rachel Kathryn.
