The Simonson's: "If I Only Had A Brain!"

"If I Only Had a Brain" is how I have been feeling lately. I cannot remember anything unless I write it down. If it were not for the Calendar in my office this blog would be really short because I would only be able to write about the last couple days. All the other days just seem to run together into one big day. I would like to blame it on lack of sleep but I don't think that is the case. Alec has been sleeping from around 9 or 10 until about 4:30 or 5. Maybe it is too much sleep. I am going to attempt to start staying up at 5 and working out in the mornings because this whole waiting until nap time or after the kids are in bed has not been working. I will keep you posted on how the 5 am work outs are going.
Let's review the week. Monday I did laundry and the kids and I spent some time outside since it was cool. The girls rode bikes and Rachel and I picked up some of the weeds Mike pulled before work that morning. Tuesday was another cool morning so the kids and I walked to the mailbox and played outside before lunch. Then it was naps and after supper Alec and I headed to town for girls night.
By Wednesday we had enough of being at home so we were planning to go to the museum in the morning. The air conditioning people were supposed to be here at 8:30 to finish fixing the air conditioner. They didn't show up until 10:30 and by that time it was time for lunch and Becca's nap. We finally headed to town around 3:30 to go play at the museum. After the museum we stopped by Gracie Mae's for supper because Mike had a meeting. As we were heading home Kate text and said they were going to Cody Park for the rides so we turned around and went to Cody Park with the Raatz family. Mike met us after his meeting for some ice cream.
Thursday we went to gymnastics and then picked up some food before coming home for naps. Mike was on call Thursday night and was busy until 1 am. So the kids and I just played and hung out Thursday evening. Friday morning I took Rachel to see Justin as she hurt her foot on Thursday night and still would not walk on it Friday morning. Justin had some xray's taken and didn't see anything so we had her start walking on it. She is still walking with a little bit of a limp at times but has had a busy weekend and got around just fine. Friday night we went to Trosynski's for a BBQ. Mike stayed home and rested after his long night. The girls had fun but were a little lost at Lisa's without Sam or Rebekah being home. I missed them both as well because I had to help the girls find thing in the house and push them on the swings!
Saturday Mike had to go to work for awhile. He then came home and mowed the lawn while I ran to town to get some groceries. We left Rachel in the house with Becca while Becca napped. All went well until Becca woke up, Rachel went out the front door to find Mike. When she couldn't find him she tried to come back in the front door. The door is really hard to get open when the sun has been shining on it and Rachel got stuck between the two doors. She said that she was turning the handle and yelling for her dad but she was just stuck. When Mike asked her why she didn't just go back out the door behind her she told him that she didn't think about it! She was not stuck very long and didn't even have any tears. Saturday evening we all traveled to Wallace to attend a benefit for one of Mike's nurses that was diagnosed with Lymphoma. We ended up buying a couple thing at the auction and then came back home to see Pat, Wanda, Aaron, Liza, Sean, and Ashlynn. Aaron and Liza and kids stayed the night with us and we all went in to breakfast Sunday at Perkins. Alec and I then went to church before meeting everyone at Cody Park for a picnic with Mike's cousin from Boston and his family. Pat and Wanda took Becca home with them. Mike, Rachel, Alec, and I then attended the CEO/Hospital annual summer picnic. After that picnic we all came home for a good nights sleep.
Wow what a week. No wonder I can't keep my day's straight. I don't think this week should be as busy but you never know what will come up. Becca came home today and had a great time with Grandma and Granddad. Thank you so much for keeping her for a couple days! Have a good week and I will try to post again next Monday.
