The First Two Week of October

So here we are in November and I have yet to write any blogs for October. Not sure if this is a good thing or not. For my faithful readers I am really letting you all down, sorry! So here we go catching up and informing you of our adventures from October 5-11:
Monday we too Rachel to school and the went to Jazzercise, after class we stopped at Lisa's to play and visit with Sam and Babs as they did not have school. The rest of the day was spent cleaning and doing laundry. Tuesday the girls both had school and Alec and I went to Jazzercise. After school we took Becca in for her 4 year check-up with Dr. Shawn. She looked great and was able to preform all the tasks for her age group, which include drawing lines, writing a few letters, and being able to stand on one foot, plus a few more things. I forgot to write down how much she weighted and her height, but she weights around 38 lbs and is 41 inches tall. Tuesday evening I had a party to go to in town and Mike and Alec were working outside so I had Rachel be in charge. After baths I had the girls lay down and watch a movie, after the movie they were supposed to brush teeth, and go to bed. Mike came in the house around 8 and both girls were in bed. It is so nice to be able to let them have more freedom and Rachel really does like being in charge and helping out with the kids as long as she can do it her way!
Wednesday we took Rachel to school then went to Jazzercise, after class Becca, Alec, and I went and got shots. Alec and I each only needed our flu shots, but poor Becca got all her Kindergarten shots and her flu shot which ended up being 5 shots. She took them like a champ, a loud scream, and a few tears, but it was all better with a hug and a sucker. We came home and mowed that after noon before taking the kids to CCD. Thursday we took the kids to school then Alec went to Michelle's to play while I went and got fitted for my bridesmaid dress. It only needed hemmed so it didn't take long. After picking up Becca we went to lunch with Lisa then came home and did housework.
Friday we took Rachel to school then went to Jazzercise. Rachel got out of school at 11:30 due to end of the quarter and Mike decided to start laying cement for the shop driveway and the basketball court so we also picked up Reece and Rhett as their dad was here helping Mike. The kids all spent the day playing and the guys worked hard to get all the cement work done. Aaron and Andy were also here to help. Saturday we stayed home and the girls and I dug up our existing flower beds and transplanted the plants. The flower bed out front has been here for 8 years so the plants really needed split. I was able to rearrange the plants and hope that next year they will come up and look more uniform. We also cleaned out the flower bed by the front door and planted tulip bulbs and rearranged some of those plants. I can not wait for next spring to see what all comes up and how it all looks. We finished most of the work in the morning and Mike and I watched most of the Husker game before I headed to church. After church we had movie night and enjoyed Pitch Perfect 2 as a family.
Sunday we made a new flower bed on the other side of the circle drive and I was able to fill it with the rest of the plants that I did not reuse in the other flower bed. Alec woke up from his nap with a big sore on his tongue so we spend most of the evening rocking.

Week 2 October 12-18: Monday Alec had more mouth sores so after taking Rachel to school we just came home and did some laundry and cuddled. Tuesday Rachel and Becca both went to school and Alec was feeling a little better so we went to Walmart and Hobby Lobby while waiting for Becca to get out of school. After picking up Rachel in the afternoon the girls painted pumpkins while Alec napped. After baths Rachel told me that her mouth hurt on the side, when I looked inside she had a mouth full of blisters as well.
Wednesday and Thursday we stayed home as all the kids had mouth blisters. I talked to Dr. Shawn and he thinks they may have had some form of hand, foot, and mouth or just some viral sores in the mouth. I kept Rachel home from school as a precaution and was able to get some cleaning and things done while the kids played and rested.
Friday we sent Rachel back to school but I still didn't want the other two in the daycare at Jazzercise with the babies so we went to Walmart and then came home and cleaned the garage while waiting for Rachel to get out of school. Friday evening Mike was on call and working so we took some recycling to town and grabbed some supper before coming home and watching a movie.
Saturday we went to Grand Island with Lisa and Babs, to meet up with Babs boyfriend and family at the pumpkin patch. Rebekah is talking to/dating my cousin Isaac on my dad's side of the family. We all had a great time at the pumpkin patch. Sunday we went to church then came home and mowed the lawn. Sunday evening we went over to neighbor Melissa's to see the new baby corgi puppies. The kids had so much fun holding the puppies and playing outside.
