Thanksgiving Here and Gone

Thanksgiving came and went already and I have so much to be thankful for. This post will be about how we closed out November but also the things I am thankful for looking back over the past 2 weeks.
   November 16th through the 29th:
Monday we took Rachel to school and went to Jazzercise. After school we hung our Christmas wreath on the fence and got inside just before it started raining. Tuesday morning I had everyone loaded up and ready to go to school went I got ready to start the suburban the battery was dead. After cussing Mike and calling a couple neighbors to get rides for the kids for school I was finally able to get the battery charged enough to get the suburban to start and got everyone to school. Becca was a little late but we made it. Then Alec and I went to Rich's Auto and Alec enjoyed watching Steve install a new battery for us. Tuesday I was thankful for my dad; he taught me so much growing up, but Tuesday I was thankful that he taught me how to charge a battery. I was also thankful on Tuesday for amazing friends who's dad's own car shops and can help me out when Mike is working and not able to get away!
The rest of the week the girls had school and CCD, Alec and I went to Jazzercise and we were finally able to have Kate, Hanna, and Dutch out for a play date. Friday night we had the wound care clinic Holiday party so Lisa took the girls to the String Beans concert in town and Alec stayed at Lisa's and played with Sam and Marty. Friday I was thankful for Cousins; I am not sure how I would get everything done without Lisa and her family. Lisa is always excited to have the kids along on her adventures, she is always willing to step in if Mike or I have other obligations and can't make it to an event with the kids, Marty is never surprised when he has to cook for 3 or 5 more, as there have been days that the kids or all of us have showed up to eat with little to no notice! I am thankful for Rebekah and the care and love she has for my kids, she is always willing to spend the night and go on any adventure with me to help with the kids. I am thankful for Sam as my kids all look up to him so much and enjoy having him come out and play or help teach them new things while they are at his house. I am also very thankful for John, he is an excellent delivery boy if I forget something in town or need something taken to Lisa he is always willing to run something either way, he is also willing and available to be our house/dog sitter. He comes out and stays at the house when we leave town so that Roger gets food and water and he even takes Roger to town with him to get food or run errands. Friday I was thankful for the Troshynski family!!
Saturday and Sunday we just hung out at home and got some things finishes up outside from the fall and took down all our fall decorations.

The Final Project

Thanksgiving week was busy with shopping for food and getting all the Christmas stuff up outside while the weather was nice. Rachel only had school on Monday and Tuesday and we had planned to go to mom and dads on Thursday but the roads were to icy to drive up on Thursday and back on Friday so we just stayed home. We did go to town on Thursday to have lunch with the Troshynski family and friends and then spent the afternoon and evening playing and visiting with the Raatz family.  Friday we put up the Christmas tree, had lunch with Grandma Priest, Auntie J, Grandma Wanda, Uncle Larry, and Mike's cousin Michelle and her family. Mike and I watched the Husker's play Iowa Friday evening and the kids enjoyed some down time watching movies.
Saturday Nick, Melissa, Tucker, Kelcee, Pat, and Wanda came out to the house for lunch and then Nick and his family spent the night. The kids all had a great time playing and Mike and I were able to enjoy playing some cards with his family. Saturday evening the neighbor called to say that the Moose that has been in the area for a couple weeks was in their pasture so the guys and I headed over to see him. It was almost dark so we were unable to get very good pictures, until he decided to move and came to eat out of the willow tree in our backyard. We still didn't get the best pictures but I am officially off Moose watch and he had even been back during the day and early in the morning this week. We ended last week with a lazy Sunday afternoon after everyone left. Sunday I was thankful for family; I was thankful for my family for understanding why we did not make it to Thanksgiving with them, and thankful for Mike's family for coming to town to spend time with us. I was thankful for great neighbors who knew that I had been tracking the Moose and knew to call me so that I could see him in person!
