Oh November how did you get away from me? I was all caught up on this blog then I turned around and here I am 3 weeks behind and November is over. Welcome to anyone new that is reading this after getting our Christmas Card. Let's get a few things straight. If run on sentences, some misspelled words, and maybe even some incomplete thoughts bother you then this is not the blog for you to read. This blog is for my friends and family that are interested in our day to day lives. Actually the blog is for my children and future grand children. I have very fond memories of stories my great grandma Davis told me of what life was like when she was growing up and thought it was all amazing. I am amazed every day how much this world is changing. I can still remember when my roommate Kevin got a cell phone that we could watch "TV" on. I think we could watch the news and that was about it. Now my cell phone tells me the weather, what is in the news, what my friends are doing, and I can even track some of them on my friends finder app. What will things be like in another 20 years? I also use this blog to win arguments with my husband. Yes we argue about stuff and every once in a while I get to pull out my blog book and show him were we were on a specific day! So here we go catching up on November and life.
November 14-20
Monday Rachel was feeling but better after getting sick Sunday evening but I kept her home from school just to be sure. We took Becca to school in the afternoon and Rachel stayed home alone for the first time while Alec and I took Becca. My biggest fear leaving any of my kids home while I am in the car is not what they will get into while I'm gone, but how long would it take someone to find them if something happened to me. Sure I would get transferred to the hospital and Mike would get called but how long would it be before someone wondered if the kids were alone? Mike and I get so busy with our own parts of life that most days we don't have a clue what the other person is doing. Sure I know that Mike has clinic on Monday and Wednesdays, does surgery on Tuesdays and Thursday, and goes to Cozad or is in surgery on Fridays. I don't know if he decided to go to lunch, Menards, or run some other errands. Sure I usually give Mike the rundown of the day as he is walking out the door, but sometimes I have coffee with a friend, or go to town when I tell him we are staying home. So in the end I do feel like Rachel is old enough to stay home while I run Becca to school, but how long would it take for her to realize that maybe I'm not coming home? So for now I will continue to take my kids along or leave a detailed list of things to do to call Mike if I do not return by a certain time!
Tuesday Rachel felt better and went to school so the little ones and I went to Jazzercise, then to Walmart and then played outside enjoying the last bit of the warm days before the snow. Wednesday Rachel again said that she didn't feel well. Come to find out I think she just wanted to stay home again because when I told her she had to spend the day in her bed reading she was much better and able to go school at lunch time. Since Rachel's lunch is 20 minutes before Becca goes to school we dropped off Rachel and then went to the park to play for a while before dropping Becca off at school. After school on Wednesday neighbor Melissa called and asked if we wanted a cat someone needed to get rid of in Hershey. Becca has been begging for a cat for a long time so I said yes, but that I would talk to Mike and if he was not okay with it we would be bringing the cat to her house to live. The cat had been outside so we named her Charlotte and let her go in the shop. Well then for about a week we could not find her. She used her litter box and ate the cat food so we knew she was in there but just hiding from us.

Thursday we took Rachel to school then went to Jazzercise and Walmart again. After taking Becca to school Alec and I went to town and had coffee with Traci. Alec and I both enjoy our coffee dates so much he now asks to go to coffee at least once a week. Thursday night I went to Lisa's and played Bunco (a dice game) while Babs came out to play with the kids and Mike was on call. It started snowing Thursday evening and by Friday morning we had enough snow and ice that Hershey cancelled school. I had a hair appointment on Friday so the kids went to play at Lisa's and then we came home and they played in the snow. Johnna came to spend the weekend with the kids while Mike and I went to Lincoln with Stacy to meet up with Kate and Justin and attend the Husker football game. We had a great night out in Lincoln Friday night and the kids did well with Johnna.

Saturday we got up early and dressed in all our warm clothes and headed to the game. We tailgated a little and then headed into the stadium to catch the tunnel walk. We had good seat but were kind of high up. We stayed warm, watched a great game, and then enjoyed our afternoon and evening out in Lincoln. We meet up with some more friends from North Platte and had a great time. Sunday we got up had breakfast then went to Sams Club before heading home. The kids had a great weekend with Johnna. It was so nice when we got back on Sunday that the kids and Mike made snow forts and had a snowball fight.
