May Ends and June Begins

  As May came to an end we started a busy June with ball games and Nebraskaland Days. Monday we slept in after the busy weekend then I mowed while Mike and the kids played and after lunch we went to Murdock's for a pool party and then to the lake to see Vince and Traci. The kids had a great time at both places and were ready for bed by the time we got home. I forgot to mention that Mike finally got his new car; a dodge challenger hellcat. It was delivered on Thursday evening but then we left for branding so he was super excited to take it to town on Monday!

  Tuesday we stayed home and unpacked, did chores and the Babs came out to watch the kids while I ran some errands in town and pick up our beef. I did laundry in the afternoon and we played outside. Wednesday we did housework in the morning then picked up Elly and headed to the circus for the afternoon. It has been a couple years since we have been to the circus as we are usually getting ready to leave town for branding. The kids had a great time and loved all the animals. We stopped by Cody Park for some ice cream and to play after the circus then watched Sam play some baseball before meeting Mike at Tempura and heading home.

   Thursday we made it to June! We just stayed home after being gone all afternoon the day before and did house work. The girls both had game that night and then we celebrated with ice cream at Cody Park.

   Friday we stayed home and  Hinton's came out to play. I cooked steaks for supper that night and we all enjoyed a movie. Saturday morning we got up and started working outside. The kids and I finished cleaning out the old garden and planted pumpkins and gourds. (Sadly none of them came up this year. I am still waiting to see if anything will grow from last year under all the weeds on the other side of the fence) I also finally got the potatoes planed in main garden. They are going to be late but we really enjoy baby potatoes so hopefully they at least get bigger than last year. Mike worked all day Saturday on tearing down the old deck to get ready for the new one. It was a much bigger task than he expected and thankfully we have some amazing neighbors that are willing to come help. So by the end of the day Saturday with some help from Matt the old deck was down with only a few broken boards and no damage to the house! We all got cleaned up after working outside and went to town for supper and a movie. We saw Captain Underpants, the kids loved it and we all had a great time as a family.

  Sunday Rachel and I went to church and Walmart before coming home. Mike, Becca, and Alec stayed home and played. I mowed after church and mulched my garden. We then enjoyed some time outside. Stacy came out for a drink and Pat and Wanda also came out for a visit while they were in town.
