May Week 4

   Monday we started our new routine for the summer. The kids all had certain things they had to do before they could watch TV or have ipad. They did a great job getting everything done this week and my house stayed clean. We stayed home during the day and planted our carrots and radishes, mowed and played. Babs came out that evening so Mike and I could go to town for a PA candidate dinner. Jaxson came to town Monday evening and stayed with us so that he could watch West Holt compete at the state golf tournament at Lake Maloney.
    Tuesday we ran Jaxson to the golf course then went to Walmart. We got groceries and some helmets for the kids to wear while they rode bikes. We picked up Jaxson after lunch and then came home to play. Rachel had a game at 6 and Jaxson and Alec went to Sam's to play. Rachel and Becca went to Elly's after the game and played until dark.

   Wednesday we dropped Jaxson off at the course then went to town to drop off shirts at the dry cleaners. Rachel went to Elly's to play and Alec and Becca spent the afternoon riding bikes. Becca mastered riding without training wheels and then the girls both had games that night. They are both playing in North Platte this year and they do not keep score so we did not have a win loss record but they both had fun and enjoyed the game.

   Thursday the kids went to play with Justin and Elly while I went to Walmart and ran a couple errands. We packed and cleaned in the afternoon. Roger has been getting better each day. The neighbors took care of him last weekend while we went to Des Moines and we took him with us this weekend to the ranch. He still cannot blink and is a little unsure of jumping in the back of the pickup but overall is doing great. Friday we got up early and took off for the ranch to help with branding. We took the pop-up camper and outside of it getting really cold at night the kids and I loved sleeping in it. Mike is still not a fan of camping but it was so nice to have our own space to keep all our stuff and Roger was much more comfortable being able to see us while he slept at night. Saturday was branding day and we all had a great time. The kids were tired and dirty at the end of the day but loved every minute of it. Mike and Rachel went to stay at Aaron's on Saturday night so that Mike could go to another branding with Aaron and Rachel could play with Ash. Sunday we got up and played then packed up the camper and headed to Mullen to meet Aaron and pick up Mike and Rachel, then we came home and watched a movie and headed to bed.
