Cabo 2018

   While Mike and I were gone Alec had a great time with Grandma and Grandpa. He got to watch Jaxson play basketball and meet new friends. He learned that cheese on popcorn is so good and that feeding cows with Grandpa takes a long time. He got to play with Axel and Sandi and at one point asked Sandi if she would get a babysitter for Axel because he was crabby and then he and Sandi could do something fun! Mom and Dad then came to our house on Friday and spent the weekend with the girls and Alec. The girls spent the weekend with Lisa, then went to a basketball game, church and enjoyed playing and spending time with Lisa and Babs. Becca got to go help Babs pick out her prom dress and Rachel had basketball practice. Pat and Wanda came to town on Sunday for Grandma Priest's 90th birthday. The girls enjoyed watching some of the Super Bowl with them before bed on Sunday. Each girl bet Granddad that the Eagles would win and they won so Granddad owed them each a candy bar. Pat then went home on Monday and Wanda stayed with the girls until Tuesday morning. Tuesday after school the girls went to Elly's where they stayed until Friday. They had a great time at Elly's and got a little sad and tired by Thursday. Friday after school Justin brought them home and mom and dad were here. Alec was very excited to see his sisters but got a little sad when we were not home also. Friday night Nick and Aaron came and stayed and had a great time visiting with my parents. Saturday Nick and Aaron went to watch Nathan wrestle at districts where he got 3rd and got to go to state. Saturday Rachel had her first basketball games and did great. After basketball they went to town for supper, church, and ice cream. They then came home and watched a movie. Sunday they just hung out and played until we got home. We were very thankful for all the people that helped care for our babies while we were gone!
  Cabo San Lucas was where Mike and I went for vacation this year. We stayed at an all inclusive resort with Justin and Kate. We stayed at Pueblo Bonito Pacifica and had a great time. On Saturday we flew from Denver to Phoenix where we surprised Mike by joining up with Kate and Justin. We then had the same flight to Cabo. We arrived in Cabo and got a taxi to the resort. We enjoyed a nice sushi dinner with big plans to go out that night but instead Kate and I fell asleep after dinner so we all called it a night.

   Day 2 we enjoyed a nice walk on the beach before breakfast and then spent the day at the pool. We meet some people at the pool that had a Super Bowl party that we attended for awhile and then found a bar where we watched the end of the game. Day 3 we decided to take a day trip to one of the other resorts. We went to Rose which was closer to downtown. It was very crowded and the service was not that great. We did get to get in the ocean as our resort was on the other side of the marina and we were not able to get in the ocean due to the tides. We came back that day and talked to the front desk about upgrading our room and moved to much better room and got access to a VIP room that was great for whale watching and for predinner drinks. We went to the golf course that evening for supper. The food was okay, the service was not great, and it took forever.

   Day 4 we went to Sunset another resort for breakfast. Again it was so crowded and you had to take golf carts to get everywhere. At this point we decided our resort was the best and didn't go to any of the other resorts. After breakfast we changed and spent the afternoon by the pool. That evening we enjoyed a very nice dinner at our resort.

   Day 5 we spent at the pool and had another great dinner out. Day 6 the guys golfed and Kate and I enjoyed the day at the pool. That evening we went to town to enjoy a dinner on the beach at The Office a recommendation by some people in North Platte. It was a very fun place, Kate and Justin went on stage and participated in a balloon popping challenge. We then walked around the marina and went downtown were there were many clubs and people. There were also many cops and we decided maybe our resort was a better place for the rest of the evening. 

    Day 7 we had breakfast in the morning and just hung out then went to town and went on a fishing trip. We did not catch any fish but we did get to see some whales, (It is mating season so the humpback whales come to cabo to find a mate) dolphins and sea otters. The dolphins were swimming right under the front of our boat and the sea otter came up on the back of the boat for our bait when we came back into the marina. After fishing we went back had dinner and called it a night as we had to pack and leave the next day.

Last Night Out

  Day 8 we got up and finished packing. Enjoyed some breakfast with some whale watching and then had some lunch by the pool before heading to the airport. We flew back to Denver and stayed over night before heading home on Sunday. It was so nice to get away but great to get home and see the kids.
