December 26 - 31

Monday Mike had to work. Becca, Alec and I cleaned up the house and finished packing. It was then time for me to take the kids to meet Katie and pick up Mom and Dad. We then came back to North Platte and picked up Mike and headed to Denver for our flights. By the time we got to Denver our flight for the next morning was cancelled so while Mike went to check into our hotel we looked for more flights. In the end we couldn't get us all on a flight and we were not sure that we would find a flight home so Dad decided he was good to drive so we took off for Texas. Dad drove all night and close to 700 miles before we stopped for breakfast at 6:30 am. Mike then drove us into San Antonio and we made it in time to watch the Hershey band perform their parade routine. After the parade we headed to the hotel to check in and take a nap. We then went to the River Walk and watched as the band performed. We grabbed some food while we watched the bands and then it was back to the hotel for early bed as we were all still tired from the little sleep the night before.

Wednesday we enjoyed sleeping in and then went to the river walk to find breakfast. We walked around most the day and then stopped into Coyote Ugly for some drinks before finding a place for supper. Rachel and the band went to their awards ceremony and came back with 4 awards and 1st place overall the bands.

Thursday we grabbed breakfast and then got on a boat to tour the river walk. We then went and had lunch in the 360 tower and toured the Alamo before going back to the hotel for a nap before the night game. After watching the game Hershey got on the bus and headed home while we went back to the hotel to sleep before getting on the road the next day.

Friday we got up and headed for home. Dad drove the whole way and we stopped in a small town for an amazing lunch. Rachel got home around 7:30 and we got home at 10:30. Katie was here with the kids went we got back and Rachel got a ride home. After talking with Katie for a little bit we were all ready to sleep in our own beds. Saturday we got up and had breakfast before loading up the treadmill and sending Mom, Dad, Katie, and Jaidyn on the way home. We spent the afternoon with the kids and then went to church before coming home to watch movies and the ball drop in New York. Then it was off to bed for Mike and I. The kids said they made it to midnight! Happy New Year!
