Mexico

So I did not get this done last week so we will get two blogs in tonight; I hope. Let's start at the beginning. Mike worked Tuesday morning so I was going to have plenty of time to finish packing, drop of kids and be home waiting for him by 2 pm so we could go to Holdrege to see Nick and Melissa's new baby girl Kelcee Louise. Well let's just say the day was a bit of a whirl wind. It started out when Rachel wet the bed. She has not done this for at least 3-4 months. So now I have a load of bedding to wash before we leave. That's okay; I threw in the load of bedding as we were headed out the door to take Rachel to school. As we were coming back home Alec choked on the tag of his blanket, or his sock, not really sure and got sick all over the car. It was running down the seat all over the car seat, everywhere. So now I am taking apart the car seat (no I could not figure it out, so I had to come in and search You Tube for a video) and cleaning not only the suburban but also the whole entire car seat. Load of laundry #2 going in and it is now 10:30. I have not finished packing nor are my nails looking near as good as I wanted them too.
Go get Rachel and think the kids will at least nap for a little bit so I can finish packing before I take them to town. Nope that didn't happen either. I try to finish packing while tending to the need of 3 children and trying really hard not to yell as I didn't want them to be sad and then be gone for 6 days. Mike got home at 1:30 and I was not ready to go. Took the kids to town and got everyone dropped off, came home finished packing and finally made it on the road around 3:30.
We did make it to Holdrege to see Kelcee and Tucker and then went to Kearney to eat before heading to the motel in Omaha. We got in around 11:30 and had to be up at 3:30 am for our flight. Mom, Dad, Sandi, Nicky, and Clay got to our hotel around 2:45 and we headed to the airport around 3:30. Nothing too exciting happened in the air. Mom dumped over her purse on the first Airplane and lost her birth certificate but thankfully we had a 2 hour layover in Atlanta and plenty of time to go back and get it, as they found it on the airplane.
We arrived in Cancun around 12:30 and after some searching we finally found the bus and we were the last of our group to arrive to take us to the hotel. We stayed at Secrets Silversand Riviera Cancun. We got checked into our room and then went to check out the ocean and the pools and had a couple drinks before getting ready for dinner that evening. After dinner everyone was tired from little to no sleep so we all went to bed pretty early.
Thursday we had to meet with our guide and we set up a Snorkeling trip for that afternoon for our family and Pat, and Patti and also a Deep Sea fishing trip for the guys for Friday. We were gone most of Thursday afternoon on the snorkeling trip but had a lot of fun. Nicky, Clay, Sandi, Mike, Dad, and I all snorkeled while Mom, Pat Fritz, and Patti Tielke all stayed on the boat and watched. We were able to see many different fish. They were not very colorful but there were a lot of them. After we were done snorkeling Sandi, Dad, Clay, and Mike all road on a swing that was attached to a sail and jumped off into the ocean. Mike and Clay each got to go twice but they all really enjoyed it.
We went out for another nice dinner Friday night and then sat outside at the bar for a couple drinks before bed. Friday morning we enjoyed the pool  before the guys took off for their fishing trip. Mike caught a couple of small fish but no one else had much luck. The girls and Logan (Brianna's husband) enjoyed the afternoon in the pool and just lounging around.
Saturday was the wedding at 3 in the afternoon. After our last buffet breakfast we all hung out at the pool for a little while before Mike and I went to get our massages. They had a very cool spa on site and Mike and I really enjoyed our time there before the wedding. The wedding was beautiful and very short and sweet. After the wedding we all went to dinner together as a group and then enjoyed a little dancing in the main lobby before going outside to enjoy our last night at the resort.
Overall it was an amazing trip and so much fun. I am so glad that Mom and Dad were able to go along and next time we will have to take more pictures of our whole group and Sandi, as I don't think I have any of either one.
