Cody Park is open for the season. Rachel could not be more excited. She has been waiting all year for the rides to reopen. Every time we go to Grandma Julie's or Grandma Wanda's we drive by and I always get the report on the rides. They are now open and we had to get out and ride the first weekend. Becca is now in love as well. Alec did not go on any rides this time but I'm sure he will before long.
Monday we dropped Rachel off at school and headed to Walmart; hopefully for one of the last time in a while with Becca and Alec. They are both getting tired of shopping with me and I am forgetting more things each time. After school we worked outside and played. Alec got to drive the pink car for the first time and loved it. Only real boys' drive pink cars right?!? Tuesday was Rachel's last day of school so after drop off we went to Jazzercise. After school Tuesday Rachel just wanted to come home and play. Tuesday night we meet Mike in town and went to Tempura for supper. Rachel got her first taste of Wasabi and decided that eating the whole chunk is not a good idea. After some laughs and tears we went to Cody Park for some ice cream.
Wednesday we meet Michelle, Laura, Gwen, and Cyline for lunch at Gracie Mae's. That afternoon it was so nice that we all played outside and Mike decided to give Alec his first haircut. Alec was not a huge fan but finally with a sucker and watching a little Mickey Mouse we got it done and he looks good. I always think it is funny when you look back at the pictures before and after. I never think that they really need a haircut until the after!
Thursday we just stayed home and cleaned and worked on laundry. It was cloudy most the day so we stayed inside. Thursday night Mike and I attended a fundraiser for the Children's museum. Shannon came out and babysat for the kids. The girls were really excited for her to come out and Alec went to bed well. Everyone had a great night!
Friday it finally rained. Man did we need that. I painted the girls finger and toe nails while Alec napped and we spent most of the day cuddling and watching the rain. Friday night Mike was on call and we all got to watch a movie. Saturday Nick, Melissa, Tucker, Kelcee, Grandma Wanda, and Grandma Priest came to the house to play and eat supper. Nick, Melissa, and the kids stayed over with us and Wanda stayed in town. Sunday we got up and after a big breakfast Nick and Melissa went home. The kids and I got ready and meet Wanda and Phyllis in town for lunch and then Mike meet us at Cody Park for an afternoon of rides and ice cream. Kate, Justin, Hanna, and Dutch were also at Cody Park and the girls enjoyed riding the rides with Hanna. Alec and Dutch are not really old enough to play together but they enjoyed crawling around. Yesterday afternoon I mowed, man did the yard like all the rain. It was really tall and took awhile to mow.
Happy Memorial Day and Thank You to all that have served and are serving our country. Thank you for giving me and my family peace and freedom.
