The Simple Life

The simple life is what I'm going to try to remember each day this summer. We are finally to the last week of summer. Rachel only has one day of school left. She is really excited as she is getting tired of me hurrying her along each morning. She loves getting up early but would rather lounge around and play than get ready for school.
Last week was pretty busy or as I like to say it was a muffin week. There are days that all I feel like I do is chase my tail or bounce from one task to the next without really getting much done. That is what this week felt like. Monday we went to Jazzercise instead of Walmart since it was snowing and raining. We just played inside in the afternoon. Tuesday we went to Walmart which was interesting because they got rid of the cart I usually use. I usually use the one with the infant seat attached and Becca laying in there so that Alec can sit up. This week we had to use the one with the two standing seats. The seat belts never work so Alec had to sit in the little area that folds out and I was scared he was going to fall out as there is no buckle and nowhere for his feet. He did not fall out and Becca got out of the cart many times. Summer please come fast so that I don't have to take all three kids shopping! After school we came home and did some cleaning and laundry while the kids played.
Wednesday we took Rachel to school and then went to Jazzercise. After school we came home and while the little ones napped Rachel and I planted trees and got sprinkled on. It was so much fun to have a helper and to hear her excitement as the rain would start and stop. Thursday after we took Rachel to school we meet up with Auntie J and Julianne at the children's museum. Alec and I went and picked up Rachel while Becca stayed at the museum to play. After the museum we went to Gracie Mae's for lunch, Grandma Priest also meet us for lunch. After lunch we went to Lisa's so the little ones could nap; by the time we got there Rachel was asleep but Alec was not. Lisa then watched the little ones while Rachel and I went to the eye Dr. for her kindergarten check. She passes with just a little bit of farsightedness so we will just watch, no need for correction yet. After her appointment Rachel, Rebekah, Becca and I went to Margarita's for supper while Alec stayed to play at Lisa's.
Friday we dropped Mike off for clinic in Cozad then went on to Alma so the kids could meet baby Kelcee. Becca was in love and such a little mommy; she loved to hold her and did not like when she "Got angry". We stayed for lunch and then had to head back and pick up Mike from clinic.  Friday night we just relaxed and I watched a movie while Mike worked on his car in the shop.
Saturday we got up and went to Mullen for Tim Simonson's branding. Rachel got to go to the coral while Becca, Alec and I helped with the food prep. The kids all had a great time and did very well with little amount of tears. We came home Saturday night after a very long day. We did get to see Grandma Wanda for a little bit since they had a different branding to go to that same day.
Sunday we went to church and then out to lunch. Rebekah joined us for church and lunch and the girls always enjoy having her around and I enjoy the extra set of hands. After church we came home and I mowed in the 30 mph winds. What a mess! Alec also turned 11 months old. I have not gotten any pictures of him yet but hope to get them tonight and I will try to get them added with a little post about all his new tricks.
