The Simonson's: Camping

We did it, we had our first successful camping trip. The kids all slept most the night without any middle of the night screaming and Alec even napped on Saturday. Okay so I may have had to drive him around to get him to sleep, but he napped! Thanks to Kate and Justin we did have a pop up camper to sleep in and we were not in the tent but either way we did it and all survived!

Monday we started our first full week of school! Last year I would walk Rachel into the gym before school so she could walk with her friends. This year we decided that she could just get out of the car and walking into the school and gym by herself. The first day she was a little hesitant but now she just jumps out and waves good bye and walks right into school. I did see her give her preschool teacher a hug the other morning, I think she likes the fact that Mrs. Cox is right inside the door every day except Fridays. After school drop off we went to Jazzercise, most mornings the kids love to go and play with their friends but every once in a while Becca gets sad, which makes Alec sad so I kind of have to put them in the babysitting room and walk out and shut the door. We will see how school goes for Becca. After Jazzercise we came home and I had planned to do laundry and some house stuff when Liza text and said they were in town and wanted to go to lunch. Back to town we headed for lunch at Applebee's with Sean, Ashlyn, and Liza. After lunch the kid went across the street to ride the dinosaur! We then pickup up Mike and drove around waiting for Rachel to get done with school then came home and played outside before supper.

Tuesday we dropped Rachel off and went to Jazzercise, then we got the oil changed, went to NAPA to get a part for the lawn mower, then came home for naps. Tuesday night we went to the new hospital wing VIP night to check out the new floors and to see Auntie J's pictures that were selected to hang in 2 of the new rooms. The new hospital looks so good.

Tuesday the finally started building the new shop.

Wednesday we took Rachel to school then went to Jazzercise, after class we went to the mall for coffee with Gwen and then did some shopping with Gwen and Lisa. We had lunch with Stacy then came home for naps. After school Mike took the pop up camper to the lake to get a spot and Becca rode along with him. She came home and told me that she had so much fun with Dad and he even gave her bugweiser to drink. She meant bug water but got a little confused as it was really bug juice.

Thursday we had open house for Becca's preschool so Gwen watched Alec. Becca enjoyed playing toys, talking to her teachers, and coloring a picture at open house. After open house we picked up Alec and came home. Michelle and Ashlynn came out to visit and then it was time to go and pick up Rachel. I mowed some of the lawn and Mike picked up supper. He then got called back in so after supper I gave the kids baths and put them to bed then went back out to finish mowing.

Becca loves Roger so much and loves to just sit in the grass and pet him.

Friday we took Rachel to school and went to Jazzercise. After class we went to Walmart to get some of the stuff we needed for camping then came home and packed and napped and got ready to head to Lake Mac. After Mike got home we loaded up the pickup and headed to the lake. We enjoyed a nice supper at a local restaurant before returning to the camp site and cooking s'mores before putting kids to bed. It was really windy Friday night but everyone slept pretty good.

Saturday we got up and had a nice breakfast before changing everyone into swimming stuff and heading to the water. The kid had a great time playing in the sand and water, and climbing the big sand hill. Alec, Becca, and Dutch all took naps after lunch and then we all went back down to the water until supper time. Andy, Debbie, Hadley, and Barrett joined us for supper at the campers.

Sunday we got up and ate breakfast then packed everything up and headed home. We spent the afternoon watching movies as a family and Alec and I napped!
