2018 Here We Come

I know everyone is thinking I wonder how she will do this year. Will she keep this up? Will she wait 6 months to post? I would like to say I am going to get this to you each week. I would like to say I will keep up, but there is no promise. So please stick with me, I will get it done at some point and if you are missing us and our lives, just come on over. I will not promise a clean house or a big fancy meal, but I will have coffee, so kind of snack, and good conversation!
So here is how we started out the New Year. First of all the kids all had the flu so we didn't end up going anywhere for New Years Eve. Mike was on call and worked until 9:30 and I fell asleep on the couch while the kids watched Harry and the Henderson's. They thought it was so good and couldn't believe I fell asleep. I then broke the news that I had seen the show a hundred times and they just couldn't believe the show was that old! Rachel really wanted to stay up and ring in the new year so Mike and I went to bed at 10:30 and the little two had already fallen asleep. I told Rachel to watch 2 more shows and it would be midnight. She watched her shows and then looked at the clocks and none of them said midnight but she just thought they were all wrong. The poor girl went to bed at 11:45. I had originally planned to have a party for New Years Eve so I got us all pajamas, but then when the kids were sick and it was so cold we just stayed home and didn't have people out but still enjoyed our new pjs.

Monday was New Years. We didn't do too much. The kids and I played board games while Mike went to work. That afternoon we watched football and movies and just enjoyed the warmth of the house.

New Hatchimal Game!
Tuesday we finally got out of the house! We went to town for lunch at Merrick's with Pat, Wanda, Mike, and Big B! After lunch we went to visit Grandma Priest and then decided to go bowling since we were out and about. Big B joined us for bowling and games and Mike was able to bowl a quick game before going back to work for a meeting. It was a fun afternoon out! Babs came out to spend the evening with Alec and I while the girls went to Elly's for a sleepover. The kids were all missing Elly and their friends since we were home and sick over break.

The girls favorite game at Wild Bills

Wednesday Elly, Bree, and Grace all came over to play. It was good to have a house full of friends again. I love having the kid's friends over and hope that they know they will always be welcome and they feel like this is home to them. I tackled taking down the Christmas decorations and the kids all had a great time playing. That evening Mike's partner Kaisha came out for supper and we enjoyed having her. The kids went to bed early and Mike and I caught up on some shows. Thursday was finally back to school. I was ready but the kids were not so sure. They all got up and going good. After dropping off the kids I went to town and did some grocery shopping and stopped at Shopko for some shelves so I could do some organizing around the house. Elly came over after school and Babs came out that night to watch the kids so that Mike and I could go to town and have dinner with Stacy and Colten. What a great day it was.
Friday I took the girls to school and then Johnna came out to watch Alec so that I could head to Denver to meet Miss Tierney Jo! I stopped by Target on my way and then made it to Denver in time to enjoy the afternoon and evening with Tammy and Tierney. She is such a sweet baby and I enjoyed the cuddles. Mike took the kids and Elly to the movie Jumaji Friday evening and then Elly stayed the night.
Saturday Tammy and I enjoyed going for a walk and just catching up. Saturday night we went out for dinner before coming back and calling it a night. I did some pictures of Tierney while I was there and enjoyed my time away. Saturday Rachel had a birthday party and then stayed the night with Chloe. Mike and the little ones stayed home and worked around the house.

Wine and Babies. Does not get much better!

Love this girl!
Sunday I got up early and came home. Mike and the kids took down all the outside Christmas decorations since it was so nice. Rachel had basketball practice that afternoon and we enjoyed a movie that evening. What a great way to start a new year. Hope you all had a great week and please stay tuned to see what adventures we have planned for the year!

The other night I asked the kids some questions that I saw on Facebook. Their responses were so cute I thought I would share them here for you non Facebook people and for our blog book in years to come.
