April 8 - April 14

Monday the kids all had school and after drop off I came home and ran a 5K with the dogs. I love running in the mornings on our roads as it is so quiet and peaceful. I still have a love hate with actual running. I always feel good once it is over but the act of running is still not my favorite. Running is a big mind game for me, some days I can run a half mile without stopping and feeling tired and the next I feel like I can barely make it 200 yards. After my run I cleaned up and went to town and picked up Alec, we then came home and I worked on laundry. That afternoon after Becca got off the bus we took the camper to town to have the generator looked at. Rachel had girls on the run until 5:30 as they made their tutu's for their race. Jennifer gave Rachel a ride home and we had dinner and then it was showers and off to bed.
Tuesday I took the kids to school and then went to Hershey to watch Sam high jump at the track meet. He did very well and tied for second place. I then had to run back to North Platte to pick up Alec and some lunch. We then went back to the track meet to watch Sam and Maci run. It was a really nice day and we enjoyed watching everyone compete. We then picked the girls up from school and came home and got ready for soccer. All the kids had games with Alec and Rachel winning and Becca losing in the last couple minutes by 1 goal. Overall it was a great night of soccer.

Wednesday the kids all had school and I ran to walmart and then went to Michelle's for coffee before picking Alec up. We then came home and got things ready for the weekend. CCD got cancelled due to the rain and coming snow. Becca went to Hampton's to play with Delcey while Rachel was at GOTR so I only had to run to town once. By the time we got home the rain was changing over to snow. The kids went to bed that night thinking they would have school on Thursday but by 8 pm then had cancelled. I was going to go get them up but I knew we had a big weekend coming up so I let them all sleep. Thursday we had a snow day so we baked and cleaned. Rachel made cake balls and found out when making frosting that 3/4 Tablespoon and 3/4 cup make a big difference! Then Becca, Alec and I made some spiral cookies and we spent the rest of the day just hanging out.

Friday the kids didn't have school because Hershey was supposed to be the host for district music. Due to the snow and road condition they postponed music to Monday so the kids actually had a 5 day weekend. Mike bought his new truck on Friday afternoon and then we packed up and headed to Alma to see Nick and Melissa. The kids were excited to go stay and Rachel got to pick out some new shoes for her birthday from Nick and Melissa.
Saturday morning we woke up with a 10 year old girl! Everyone says that each year goes faster and I believe them. I can not believe Rachel made us parents 10 years ago. She was our easiest baby and has always been a great self entertainer. She loves animals and being alone. She is becoming such an amazing helper around the house and takes grown up jobs as a huge responsibility and does them well. She loves to bake and help in the kitchen. She is our best sleeper and is always willing to stay home with the little ones if needed. She loves to watch movies with her Dad and is excited to start piano and vocal lessons next month. Rachel Kathryn you have brought so much joy to our lives. We love you and are amazed by you every day. Keep smiling and hugging your way through life!

Saturday we packed up in Alma and headed to Kearney. We did a little shopping and then met Cindy and Kent at Cunningham's on the Lake for lunch. After lunch we surprised Rachel with a hotel with slides and some of her school friends coming to swim with her. She had a great day with her friends and then went to bed early due to having to get up early for volleyball on Sunday.

Sunday we got up early and headed to UNK for volleyball. Rachel's team played 4 round robin games. They were a little sleepy and over whelmed by the first game but with each game they played they improved. Cindy and Kent spent the morning watching volleyball and the Master's Golf tournament with us. 2019 Master's was a huge year for golf! Tiger Woods won his fifth Master's after a 14 year slump. After the volleyball tournament was over we had lunch at Red Lobster before heading home. The girls and I went to church when we got home and then Mike, Alec, and Rachel went to Captain Marvel movie while Becca and I went to see Dumbo! What a great weekend we had with lots of friends and family.
