Only In Nebraska

Only in Nebraska or the mid west do you get to see winter, spring, and summer in the same week, or day as we have seen today. Last week was a good week with some cold weather to start off, and then the middle of the week was nice and ended the week with summer like weather. Too bad we were in the car and didn't get to enjoy most of it but hey there will be more nice days ahead.

Most of last week was spent at home and running Rachel back and forth to school. We did make it to town on Wednesday and enjoyed a picnic lunch with Mike before all our friends came to play at the park. After the park we all came home and enjoyed an afternoon of golfing and playing in the sandbox.

We then had a busy weekend. We left Friday evening for Kearney; Cindy was ready for us with snacks and drinks when we arrived. We let the kids play for awhile and then I helped Rebekah get everyone in to pajamas and Alec in bed before Cindy, Kent, Mike and I went out for dinner. After dinner we enjoyed a couple games of Keno at a bar and then ended the night at Cindy's with card and drinks. We got up Saturday morning and enjoyed breakfast before taking off for Grand Island. We meet everyone at Buffalo Wild Wings for lunch before heading to the horse races. What a great day for races, it was a little windy but overall a nice day. After the races the kids and some of the daddy's enjoyed swimming at the hotel.

Sunday we went out for lunch and then enjoyed some shopping in Grand Island and Kearney before making it home just in time for bed. What a great weekend and one of the best parts was that everyone slept through the night last night!!!! Not sure what is in store for this week as we woke up to 50 degree weather, drove Rachel to school in the wind, came home in rain, and then went to pick Rachel up in 25 degree weather with blowing snow and no visibility. As I sit here and type the sun is starting to peek out of the clouds. Oh, Nebraska how I love you!
