June 18 - June 24

Happy 5th Birthday Bubba. Alec turned 5 today and we couldn't be more proud of the little boy is has become. He makes us laugh most days, he loves his daddy and sisters. He would golf everyday if someone would take him and his voice is still as low as ever. We get so many comments on how low and loud his voice is. Happy Birthday Alexander Kohle.
Monday we went to Kearney to take Lisa to a Dr's appointment. Nicky and the kids were also in Kearney today so Kinley watched the kids while I took Lisa to the Dr. After the Dr. appointment we went to shopping and then to Cindy's to hangout for awhile and see Cindy, Jason, and Patsy. Nicky and the kids then joined us for ice cream at Dairy Queen before we left town. When we got back to North Platte we went bowling as a family. That evening Babs surprised Alec by coming out at bedtime with his gift. Alec said it was the best day ever!

Money Roll from Patsy!

The love he has for this lady is unreal!
Tuesday we stayed home most the day and did house work. Elly came over after lunch and we made 4th of July shirts and played. That evening the girls had softball games in Sutherland. Becca's team won and Rachel's team lost by a lot. Sutherland has a really good team this year and our girls looked like they were sleeping most of the game.

The finished project!
Wednesday we went to town and ran errands and then out to lunch. Babs came out in the afternoon then we all went to Pal's for my birthday dinner. Marty, Lisa, Rebekah, Murdocks, Stacy, and Dugan's meet us for the night. Babs brought the kids home early so they could get to bed and we had a great night out with friends. Happy 37th Birthday to me!

Birthday Flowers from Mike

Love these guys and everything they do and give to our family.
Thursday we picked up around the house in the morning and then went to town for lunch while the cleaning ladies were here. That afternoon we left for Imperial for softball. The girls both played well again tonight. Rachel is starting to struggle with her batting but we are working on it and hope to get better at it. Softball is not her favorite sport but she loves hanging out with her friends and being part of the the team. Becca loves t-ball but really wished she was one of the the big kids so she could play in the infield. Some day sweet girl! Friday we did housework and laundry in the morning. When the grass dried out I went out and mowed and did yard work, then it was time to get ready fr the concerts. Justin Jorgensen came over to watch the kids and Mike and I went to town for supper at Wilkenson's before going to the Brett Young and Florida Georgia Line concert for Nebraskaland Days.
Stacy and Michelle were some of my first friends in North Platte, love these girls.

Saturday Rachel had batting practice in the morning then we went to town and ran some errands before meeting up with Traci and Mia for coffee. I love spend some one on one time with the kids and meeting up with friends for coffee. What a great start to the day. Maci came out to watch the kids Saturday night. Mike and I meet Aaron, Liza, Sean, Dave and Sarah (Aaron and Liza's friends) at Applebee's for supper before going to the concert. Aaron, Liza, Dave, and Sarah stayed in town at the rental house overnight since it is empty right now. We all enjoyed the Charlie Daniels Band and Alabama. They ended up hurrying through the end of the concert because a big wind and rain storm rolled in. We got to our car just in time and then the rain hit. We ended up going to the rental, eating pizza and hanging out. We are thankful each year for Babs driving us. Not sure what we are going to do when she is old enough to drink and doesn't want to be the driver for us anymore.

Sunday the girls and I went to church then we meet the boys for brunch. We then went to Cody Park for some rides and ice cream. That night we watched A Wrinkle in Time and just relaxed after the busy weekend. I also found out that evening that Madge Cleary had a heart attack and was no longer with us. What a lot of feeling and memories that brought back. You always think you will see someone like that one more time. You will get to say thank you and I love you. My only regret was not making the time just to say hi while I was back in town. I know she kept up with all our adventures through Facebook and got to see my children grow, but is it really the same? I still think of Madge and her family often and I'm so glad she was a part of our lives. We miss her but know she is in a better place.
