May 21 - May 27

Doris May Kohle went to heaven on May 17th surrounded by family. I have so many amazing memories of my time with Grandma. She made the best fried chicken, fried fish, and spaghetti. She had the most amazing garden and we loved to spend the night with her so we could have ice cream before bed. I enjoyed driving Grandma and Grandpa to Kearney so we could listen to the legion tapes and my favorite part was always the lady that yodeled. She was always my first call when I had cooking or gardening questions. She always had time for a phone conversation and modeled not only what a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother should look like, but also a true friend. As I was looking around the funeral home the night of her prayer service I could not help but feel the most sorry for her friends. We the family lost an important person but none of us lost the person that they did. Her friends had been by her side longer than any of us. She was able to spend part of her last days not only with her family but also visiting with her friends and I am not sure how anyone could ask for anything more! I know that Grandma went to heaven that day and enjoyed seeing her parents and Grandpa once again. I hope to live out my days as wonderful as she did. I will miss her always but treasure all the memories I have of my true role model!
Monday was the perfect day for a funeral if there can be such a thing. The sky was so blue and all the family was there. After the funeral dinner we loaded back into the car and came home. Mike had to go back to work and I had lots of things to get caught up on from being gone. The kids enjoyed playing outside before crashing into bed after the long weekend.

Christopher will always be one of my babies!

What a group! All because two people fell in love!
Tuesday I cleaned and worked on laundry. I also went out and worked in my garden and mowed. Rachel and Becca both had softball practice that evening and Alec enjoyed playing at the park while we waited. Wednesday Maci came over to babysit while I ran to town and did a bunch of errands. I also went to Walmart and got food for branding weekend. Nick brought Tucker to stay with us. Alec was so excited to get to spend lots of days with Tucker. Thursday Michelle invited us over for a swimming party, the girls had practice then we went to the ranch to get ready for branding.

Friday we spent the day helping Wanda get the shop and lake ready for branding. Friday evening we went to Aaron and Liza's to eat and the kids enjoyed getting their birthday presents from Aaron and Liza.

Becca's favorite part of the weekend.
Saturday was branding day. The kids enjoyed playing and eating.  We also ended the afternoon with music which is always my kids favorite thing to do. This year we got all the grand-kids and sister-in-laws matching shirts for branding day.
Waiting to serve (or maybe just eat) donuts

Sunday we helped clean up and then came back home. Nick and Melissa came to stay the night and we all enjoyed hanging out outside.
Jessie was tired after chasing the kids.
