Monday after a long week of being gone the kids started their first day of school. We missed back to school night and jr high computer checkout so we had to go to school early. Alec started 2nd grade with Mrs. Hacker, Becca started 4th grade with Mrs. Dugan, and Rachel started jr high with 8 new classes. After taking the kids to school I went to work on things at the church until the kids got out at 11:30. We then went to town for lunch and Rachel had an eye appointment to get her contacts checked at 1pm. I then stopped by the NRCS office to get the final paperwork signed so we could start the pipeline on the Campbell section out south. Then it was back to school for substitute teacher training followed by a quick mow of the yard and Piano lessons for Rachel. It was a very busy first day.

Tuesday we had a little bit easier schedule. I took the kids to school then went to the imaging center for my first mammogram. I then came home and cleaned out the camper and picked up the house and started laundry. After school Rachel and I had a meeting for volleyball and then it was home for supper. Wednesday I took the kids to school then did more laundry. I went out to check on the garden that was now over ran by weeds and topped my tomatoes. I then made some lasagna for dinner. Rachel had her first night of volleyball practice and didn't get home until 5:45.
Thursday I took the kids to school then came home to do office work until I got called in to sub at 2pm. After school we came home until Rachel had volleyball scrimmage at 5pm. Mike took off for Dismal to play in the MacKey annual event. Friday I took the kids to school then went to St. Pat's for continuing education for DRE for church. After training I picked up kids from school and we came home and enjoyed a quiet night watching TV.
Saturday morning Rachel and I got up early and got on a bus from Hershey to attend the Red White volleyball scrimmage in Lincoln with our Teammates chapter. It was a fun game to watch and a great time with friends. Mike was on call but able to be home most the day with the littles. Sunday we went to church and then lunch at Tempura. Sam joined us for lunch and for ice cream after lunch. Rachel and Sam were the only ones that got ice cream as Alec and Becca had a very hard time staying quiet during church, which means no ice cream. After that we came home and Alec did some weedeating while I mowed and then I finished up the trimming and got showered in time to watch a movie with Mike and the kids.
August
16 - If you ever ran away from home, tell about it. Nope but thought about it many times.
17 - Do you remember being really curious about something? Everything my dad did.
18 - Share your childhood experiences with roller states. We roller skated in the basement of our houses as they were not finished. We also would go to the skating rink with Jenny Cleary and her friends. I never liked it as I didn't like to play with new people. We also went to O'Neill to skate for birthday parties for Ami and Amber.
19 - Did you ever experience home sickness? Not until I was in college and got snowed in one weekend and could not go home.
20 - Tell your all time favorites:
Bible Verse- "Love is patient, love is kind"
Pastime - Reading as a kid, sewing as an adult
21 - Share an early experience with shaving or make-up. Cut my shin really bad the first time I shaved. Didn't wear much make-up until moving to Omaha after college
22 -Tell about a favorite doll, teddy bear, or other stuffed toy. I loved baby dolls growing up and was very excited to get my Cabbage Patch Doll
