May 29 - June 5

    Sunday May 29th was branding day at Pat and Wanda's. We had a great day for branding and enjoyed eating lunch back at their house this year. Dad, Jaxson and Jaidyn joined us for branding this year as dad brought the bull Pat and Aaron bought. Branding went well and we enjoyed visiting after all the work was done. A storm blew in that evening so we headed to Aaron and Liza's earlier than usual. Dad and Jaxson stayed in the camper with us and the girls stayed in the house. 

   Monday was Aaron and Liza's branding and the rain that started the night before did not want to let up. They started a little later than normal and the rain did stop just long enough to get the calves done then it started back up. We had to come home so Mike could go to work the next day and Alec had a baseball game. The wind was so bad the whole way home. The kids were exhausted so they slept but it was a chore getting the camper home. Jaidyn came to spend the week with us so she could go to basketball camp. We got back to the house just in time to get Alec changed and head to his game in Sutherland. There was not much rain here so the field was dry but it was cool out. The girls didn't want to go so they stayed home. Alec's team lost 0-8.

Baseball after branding is exhausting

Tuesday Rachel, Becca, and Jaidyn had basketball camp from 9-12 and Alec had camp from 1-4. I did not feel good all day so I spent most of the day laying around and trying to get better. Wednesday the girls had camp again in the morning and Alec in the afternoon. I was feeling much better. Alec then had baseball practice and we all went to the field. Rachel watched the Legion baseball game with her friends and Becca and Jaidyn played at the park. Thursday was the last day of camp and everyone had a great time. Rachel had band practice so she missed a little bit of the camp. I mowed in the afternoon and then after Alec was done with camp we went to the club to swim. The water was freezing so we got dressed and went to Cody Park for dinner.

   Friday Rachel had to play with the band for a conference so we dropped her off and then went to get Starbucks and donuts before it was time to pick her up. After we picked her up we went to the park to play for awhile before the trucks got to town. We went to the Campbell to see the heifer's come off the truck and then to the Simon to watch the steers. It was then time for a late lunch at Applebee's. We came home for a bit to drop off the girls and got Alec ready for his game. They lost 2-9 this time but were excited to finally get some runs. 

   Saturday Alec went to Kearney to attend the Shrine Bowl with Beckett and his family. The girls and I went to the new Top Gun Movie - Maverick. The best movie I have ever seen!!!! After the movie we came home and just relaxed in the back yard. We played with the puppies who are now eating soft food. Terri and Tom stopped out while they waited for Cody and Laura to get to town. They were meeting here for the night to take Zia home with them and they also took Jaidyn home on their way Sunday. We hung out and had a few drinks on the back deck then headed to Pals for supper. Cody, Laura, and Zia meet us there. We enjoyed some food and drinks by the grain bins that evening.

   Sunday we went to church as Rachel had to serve and then Jaidyn went home with Tom and Terri. Mike and Alec went golfing and then to the movie. Delcey came out to play with Becca. We spent the rest of the evening outside with the puppies relaxing.
