May 3 - 9

Monday May 3rd I took kids to school then stayed to help decorate for the spring sing when the nurse called and said that Alec got sick at school. So I picked him up and we came home and snuggled and just took it easy. He never did get sick again so that was good. Tuesday I took the girls to school then came home and fed Alec. He was feeling good and kept his food down so at noon I took him back to school. That afternoon I worked on laundry and housework. After school the kids and I came home and ate an early dinner before getting ready for the Spring Sing. After having the Christmas concert pre-recorded and online the kids were excited to do another in person concert. They all did really well and enjoyed the night.

Wednesday I took the kids to school then ran to Walmart to get groceries for the camper for the weekend. I then did more laundry and packed the camper. I ran to school at lunch time to meet with my mentee then helped Jen with Teammates stuff until school got done. After school we came home and played outside and finished up the camper. Thursday I went with Alec's class on his field trip to Camp Maranatha. The 1st grade field trip is always fun to watch the kids try new things. They get to roller skate, rock climb, shoot bow and arrows, and putt putt golf. We got back to school as the rest of the kids were finishing for the day. That evening we came home and I mowed while the kids played!

Friday I subbed in 4th grade from 8-12 then went to Walmart for a pick up order. Mike was off early for the day so he picked up the kids while I got the rest of the camper ready and we headed to mom and dad's for the weekend. We stopped by the golf course to let Mike and Alec out to golf before heading to the house so that we could ride back in with mom. We then spent the rest of Friday night decorating for Jaxson's graduation party on Saturday.
Graduation Walk at school!
Saturday we got up and got ready for the day. We went to Atkinson at 1:30 for a baby shower for Kelly then headed to O'Neill for Family Pictures. It was a cold and windy day so we had to take pictures inside. The best part was the studio was in the back side of Handlebent the bar so we were able to have drinks while we were taking pictures. After pictures we went back to the country club for Jaxson's graduation party.

Sunday we went to Graduation mass at 8:30 then back out to Mom and Dad's for lunch before going up to the old Henning place to look at some old oil cans and things for decorating. Lots of the old farm house stuff is very popular to use as decorations on front porches today. After our junk jaunt we packed up the camper and headed to town for Graduation. This was the first time I have been back for Graduation since Katie graduated and it is always crazy being back in the old school and seeing a new class of graduates. It was a great ceremony and so nice to be a part of. After graduation we said our goodbyes and headed home.

I didn't get the water feature but he oil cans came from Henning's

The cream can is from the Atkinson Creamery!

Partying all weekend is hard work
May
3 - Did you have a treehouse? Just for a couple years. Had a rope to get up. Was an old one dad and his siblings made. It then got too wore out and Dad took the rope down
4 - Were you ever bitten by a dog? No
5 - Did you Mother ever make a special gift for you? Not that I remember. She did make our birthday cakes out of a t-shirt pan when we were young.
6 - Tell a favorite memory of your mother. One on One time was always fun. Nicky didn't go out for track so my freshman and sophomore year we had a lot of trips home from track meets that were just the 2 of us.
7- Tell about some good advice your mother gave you. Stand up for what you believe and raise your children to be respectful of all people.
8 - Relate your family Mother's Day traditions. We don't have any.
9 - Do you remember any childhood songs or rhymes? I remember a lot of nursery rhymes that mom would always sing. She would rock the babies and sing Bye Baby Bunting. Daddy's gone a hunting. To catch a little rabbit skin to wrap the baby bunting in.  I also know Twinkle Twinkle, Baa Baa Black Sheep, This Old Man, 5 Little Indians, Ant's go Marching, 1 2 Buckle my shoe and many more. When my kids were little I would rock them while they drank their night bottle and sing: Twinkle Twinkle, Baa Baa Black Sheep and end with Bye Baby Bunting.
