October 8 - October 14

Monday we got up at Mom and Dad's and packed the car and headed home. Alec fell asleep in the car which was the first sign that he was still not feeling good today. By the time we got home he told me he was freezing so I took his temperature and he was 103.5 under the arm and 105.2 on the head. He wasn't complaining of anything just wanted to lay in the chair. Poor guy ran a temp for 48 hrs and then was fine. The girls and I worked on homework and read books that afternoon and then had dinner and everyone went to bed early.
Tuesday Alec still couldn't go to school but I had a hair appointment so we took the girls to school and then Alec went to Lisa's while I got my hair done. Alec and Lisa enjoyed the morning snuggling and watching a movie. Lisa kept Alec while Mike and I went to lunch and then stopped by the bank to talk about a loan for some land that was coming up for sale. That afternoon Alec just wanted to watch movies so I worked on laundry and some office stuff.
Wednesday the kids all finally went back to school. I spent most the day cleaning and disinfecting after Alec was sick. I also did more laundry and book work. The girls finally got their school pictures back and brought them home. I love school pictures and the girls turned out so good again this year. I am still waiting for that one year when we laugh every time we see it in the hall but for now each year they just look so much older and grown up than the year before!

Thursday we took the girls to school and then I stayed with Alec and drove some of his class to the fire station for fire safety week. Alec loved seeing all the trucks and machines at the big fire station. He also let everyone know that his uncle Clay is also a fire fighter! That afternoon Alec and I cleaned the garage while we waited for the girls to get home from school.
Pictures of the Sunrise never do it justice.

Worn out after a day playing with friends and helping mom!
Friday we took the girls to school then ran to North Platte for a couple errands before coming home to wash bedding and start cleaning the shop. Friday night Mom, Dad, Patsy, Katie, Matt, and the kids, Nicky, and Clay and the kids came to town. Nicky and Clay didn't get here until late as Jaxson had a football game. Katie and Matt were the first ones to stay in the camper and they thought it was great. Saturday Rachel had a volleyball game so we all went and watched her play before coming home to finish cleaning the shop and get everything ready for the shop party. This was the latest in the year we have ever held it and although we didn't get to sit outside we stayed warm in the shop and the kids still played outside until it got cold. We had a great turnout again and every year we are reminded of how many people we have added to our tribe since we have moved here. The only downfall is each year I forget to take pictures. I am so busy running around I just never even think of it.

Sunday everyone packed up and headed home after helping clean up the shop. Sam, Elly and Bree all stayed the night and enjoyed playing on Sunday. We all sat around the fire pit in the shop and had snacks and some drinks before Elly and Bree went home. Babs then came out and we watched a movie and Becca got to open her gifts from Babs.
