March 23 - March 29

Monday March 23rd was our first full day of home school work. All the teachers sent a list of activities to do, and or papers from school. They also announced Monday that school closure was extended until April 6th. After the kids finished up their work we went for a walk and then cleaned out all my flower pots around the house. We played outside with chalk and grilled steaks for dinner that night.

Tuesday the school was open for drive through pick up of chrome books and teacher packets. We were not allowed to get out of our cars and the teachers that were helping brought everything to the car. The kids were very excited to have their computers from school. I think it was a little more of the school that they were able to have since school had been pushed back again. Becca got to see her teacher at pickup and it made her sad. She misses school, her teacher, and her friends so much. Since we were already in the car we went to town to drop off some mouth wash for Grandma Priest and picked up lunch. We came home and did a little work then decided it was too nice so we went for a run and bike ride and did more chalk. That night we had taco's for dinner since we were outside so late.
Wednesday Mike's clinic was small due to everyone trying to keep up with social distancing so he knew he would be home around lunch time. The kids and I got up and going early that day and got all their work done by noon so when Mike got home we could go and help him. The kids home school work is only supposed to take them between 2-2.5 hrs a day. If we stay on task we can get it all done by noon each day. When Mike got home we loaded up in the work truck and went and picked up concrete and took it to the concrete pile down by the lake. The kids love working outside and helping their dad. They had the best time! Since we were out and about we ordered pizza and beer from Pals to pickup on the way home.

Thursday it was cooler out so we did our school work and Just Dance for PE. I then took the work pickup to town that afternoon so it could get fixed and Mike brought me home. Since the schools are closed the music studio also closed. I messaged Rachel's teacher and asked about doing lessons via Facetime. She agreed to try it and even though it is not the same as in person it is working for now and it keep Rachel practicing and involved with her teacher. Thursday the school announced that it would be closed indefinitely, and that they moved Prom to May 2nd and Graduation was still planned for May 9th. Jessie was also in heat so we locked the dogs together in the kennel out back. Hopefully in 60 days we will be getting ready for some puppies.
Friday it was rainy and the kids were very motivated to have all their school work completed for the week and all got done by noon. When Mike got off work he came home and picked me up and we headed to town to pick up Walmart groceries, an aerator for the yard and the work truck. That night we sat down and watched Billy Madison with the kids. Saturday it rained so I cleaned the house for 8 hrs and Mike cleaned his shop. The kids started out strong helping but soon lost interest and went out to play. That night we watched Happy Gilmore and enjoyed popcorn for dinner.
Sunday we got up and enjoyed watching church and then we all got dressed and headed outside. I worked on aerating the yard while the kids picked up sticks and all the other thing around the yard the dogs had out over the winter. Mike finished aerating for me while I overseeded and fertilized the yard. We then cut and burned branched from the tree row and enjoyed just sitting around the fire until bath and bed time.
