Monday December 20th the kids were already out for Christmas break so they slept in and then we made dipped pretzels and almond bark crack. I worked on laundry and bedding. That evening Becca had 2 basketball games. They won the first one and lost the second.
Tuesday Becca and I ran to town to run some errands and we stopped at Lisa's to make some shirts before Becca had a dentist appointment. We then came home and relaxed. Alec had a rash all over and his stomach still hurt on and off. Wednesday we stayed home and made peanut brittle and cherry mash. We then cleaned the house and watched movies that evening. Alec was up most the night again with stomach aches.
Thursday I took Alec to the Dr in the morning. He had a sever case of constipation. We then came home and packed the camper so we could head to mom and dad's. On the way by we stopped at Nicky and Clay's for a drink before going to mom and dad's house and setting up the camper. Friday morning dad and Mike left early that morning to go pick up our beef. We helped mom clean the house and get ready for Christmas lunch. We then got ready for church and dropped off gifts to Katie and family on the way to church. Katie was diagnosed with Covid the week before so they didn't come to mom and dad's for Christmas. We then went to church and to the bar for Christmas beers. Then it was off to Nicky and Clay's for supper. Alec broke out with hives that night and had bad stomach pains again in the night.
Saturday was Christmas Day. We helped mom make lunch and waited for everyone to come out. We had prime rib and lots of sides. Nicky and family, Patsy, Sandi and family were all there to eat and open gifts. We then packed up the camper and food and headed to Katie and Matt's to stay. Since it had been over 5 days and we were staying in the camper we felt it was safe to visit Katie. We had a great night of drinks and stories. Sunday we packed up and headed home. We cleaned out the camper fast and headed in to see if Santa came. He did and we spent some time opening and examining all the gifts. Rachel got the Harry Potter Lego castle that she really wanted, Alec got new golf clubs, and Becca got her Llama Bedding. We then cleaned up and watched a movie before bed.
December
20 - Tell about the worst Christmas present you ever received. "Our Bag of Beans!"
21 - Tell about your experiences with Santa Claus. We went to see him at Valentino's. Love taking the kids to Cody Park to ride the rides and visit Santa.
22 - Did you family go to a special church service at Christmas? When we were younger we would go to midnight mass. After the stopped doing midnight mass we started going to Christmas eve service and then going to the bar.
23 - When did you open your presents? Christmas morning. We always had to wait for Grandma and Grandpa Kohle, Aunt Patsy, and Great Grandma Davis to get there before we could open. Some years Grandma Tielke would also come out.
24 - Tell about Holiday celebrations at a relative's house. We always had Christmas at Grandma Kohle's with all the aunts and cousins. We always celebrated Thanksmas with the Tielke side. Mom and Dad have always stayed home Christmas day for us.
25 - Do you remember a "best Christmas"? Each Christmas gets better. Watching the kids open presents is so amazing . As a child we usually got at least one of the gifts we really wanted.
26 - Share any other Christmas memory. One year we all wanted bean bags so we got "Bags of Beans". We always stayed home for Christmas but Grandpa Tielke wanted one Christmas with his whole family on Christmas Day. Mike and Joy hosted in Norfolk that year so I remember getting up really early to open gifts and then we had to leave then to go to Norfolk. Grandpa had a stroke 2 months later, that was the last Christmas he was fully with us.
